Texas Hosting Former Five-Star Recruit With $449K NIL Valuation

Texas Longhorns Pursue Former Five-Star EDGE Marvin Jones Jr. with $449K NIL Valuation

As the Texas Longhorns continue their push for a spot in the College Football Playoff, they are also looking to enhance their roster for the 2025 season through the transfer portal.

Despite only adding three transfers so far, Texas is actively targeting some of the portal’s top prospects.

One of their key targets is former Georgia and Florida State EDGE Marvin Jones Jr., who is making rounds for visits with top programs.

Jones, a former five-star recruit from the 2022 class, initially spent two seasons at Georgia before transferring to Florida State.

Over his three-year college career, Jones has tallied 41 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and six sacks, with four of those coming in his recent season.

His NIL valuation stands at $449,000, showcasing his significant marketability and talent.

Following a visit to Oklahoma, Jones traveled to Austin to meet with Texas.

The Longhorns, led by star freshman pass rusher Colin Simmons, are preparing for potential NFL departures on defense.

Adding an experienced player like Jones would pair well with Simmons, further bolstering Texas’ already strong defensive front for the upcoming season.
