Agent says Rangers’ £4m target ‘will leave’ but thinks he could move to America

As the January transfer window approaches, Rangers’ transfer strategy is starting to take shape.

The club is reportedly pursuing several key targets to strengthen their squad, including Croatian midfielder Marko Soldo, who has been in excellent form this season.

However, along with bolstering their midfield, Rangers are also keeping an eye on potential additions for their attacking line.

Marko Soldo, a versatile and powerful player, has impressed with his performances for NK Osijek, scoring six goals and providing four assists this season.

His ability to play in various attacking roles makes him an attractive prospect for Philippe Clement’s side.

However, the club is also said to be targeting South African striker Iqraam Rayners, who has scored an impressive 12 goals in 16 games for Mamelodi Sundowns.

Rangers are reportedly preparing a bid of around £2.4 million for the forward, who could add more depth to their attacking options.

Another name linked to Rangers is Malaysia winger Arif Hanapi, who could potentially strengthen their wing options.

While it remains unclear whether Rangers will make a move for Darius Olaru, the Romanian playmaker is another potential target. Olaru, who has expressed his desire to leave FCSB in the New Year, has a £4 million release clause,

making him an affordable option for many clubs. While there has been little movement on this front, the player’s situation may change soon.

According to Giovanni Becali, a prominent agent in Romanian football, Olaru’s departure is likely, with a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) being a strong possibility.

The MLS has been shifting its focus toward younger, dynamic players in their prime, and Olaru fits this profile perfectly.

Several clubs are reportedly interested in the 25-year-old, and his agent suggests that a €5 million bid would secure his release.

Romanian football legend Banel Nicolita has also praised Olaru, calling him the best midfielder in Romania and expressing his belief that the player deserves a move to a top European club like Rangers.

Olaru, a creative number ten, has drawn comparisons to former footballing greats like Steven Gerrard, owing to his ability to control the game in the attacking phase.

However, Nicolita also emphasized that Olaru needs to improve defensively to make the next step in his career.

While Rangers may consider a move for Olaru, they could opt for Marko Soldo, who is younger and more affordable. However, if Olaru is available for the right price, his return to form could be an exciting addition to Rangers’ midfield, adding both creativity and experience to the team.
