As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for their Week 18 matchup against the Denver Broncos, there’s more than just playoff positioning on the line.

Sutton’s comments came after a team practice on January 1, when he emphasized that the Broncos’ only goal was to win the game, no matter who is playing for the Chiefs.
“We don’t care,” Sutton declared, signaling his determination and focus. The Broncos, having experienced their fair share of struggles, understand that any game is winnable, and they must prepare to compete at the highest level, whether Mahomes plays or not.
“We don’t care who shows up or who doesn’t,” Sutton continued, reinforcing the team’s resolve to fight for victory.
In their previous encounter in Week 10, the Chiefs narrowly defeated the Broncos 16-14. Since then, both teams have seen changes.
The Chiefs have maintained a high level of consistency, scoring at least 19 points in their last seven games and preventing any opponent from reaching 20 points in their last five contests.
The Broncos, on the other hand, have struggled to maintain consistent performance, with a mix of high-scoring games and defensive challenges.
Despite this, Sutton believes that they still have the ability to win and is confident in their preparation for the crucial game ahead.
Quarterback Bo Nix of the Broncos echoed Sutton’s sentiments, emphasizing that they are preparing for the Chiefs as if they will field their full-strength team.
The Broncos have been inconsistent but know they need to perform at their best in order to have a chance to win. After dropping their last two games, the team finds itself in a must-win situation to secure a playoff spot.
With several high-scoring games under their belt, the Broncos are eager to face the Chiefs, but they know they’ll need to fix their defensive lapses in order to stand a chance.
