Colts sign LB Liam Anderson to practice squad
The Indianapolis Colts have made a move to strengthen their roster by signing linebacker Liam Anderson to their practice squad, as announced on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Anderson, who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 226 pounds, has had a mix of time on both the active roster and the practice squad for the Colts throughout the current season.
He has appeared in three games so far in 2024. The 2023 season marked his rookie year, where he saw action in one game and spent the majority of his time on the practice squad.
Anderson initially joined the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2023.
Before entering the NFL, Anderson had a standout collegiate career at Holy Cross, where he played in 53 games from 2018 to 2022, starting in 30 of those contests.
During his college tenure, he accumulated impressive stats, including 231 tackles (148 solo), 37.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, and 11 passes defensed.
Additionally, he recorded six interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, as well as two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Anderson’s strong performance at Holy Cross earned him two consecutive selections to the First Team All-Patriot League in 2021 and 2022, highlighting his skill and consistency on the field.
His addition to the Colts’ practice squad provides valuable depth and an opportunity for continued development within the organization.
As he continues to grow in his NFL career, Anderson’s blend of collegiate success and versatility could make him a key contributor to the Colts in the future, as they look to bolster their linebacker corps moving forward.
