Four-star point guard sets decision date to join Kentucky

Acaden Lewis Decision Date Approaches as He Narrowed Choices

Acaden Lewis, a highly regarded four-star point guard and the 32nd overall prospect in the 2025 class,

is set to reveal his college choice on Saturday, November 2nd, at 2:00 PM ET.

The announcement will take place at the Trinidad Recreation Center in Washington, D.C.

After a stellar junior year at Sidwell Friends School, Lewis has rapidly ascended in rankings, showcasing his skills as a dynamic player.

Standing at 6-foot-2, Lewis has proven himself as an exceptional shooter, capable of scoring from long range while also excelling at driving to the basket.

His ability to contribute significantly in scoring situations has been complemented by his passing prowess, which has played a vital role in his recent rise of 63 spots in the rankings.

As he enters the final stretch of his recruitment, Lewis has narrowed his options to three schools:

Duke, UConn, and Kentucky, having previously eliminated North Carolina from consideration.

He has taken official visits to each of these institutions.

In a conversation with 247Sports, Lewis shared insights about each of his final three choices.

Regarding Duke, he expressed appreciation for Coach Jon Scheyer’s commitment to his development,

highlighting the successful recruitment of players from the DMV area and the prestige associated with playing as a point guard for the Blue Devils.

With expected departures of Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster, he sees a significant opportunity for himself next season.

Turning to Kentucky, Lewis praised Coach Pope and his staff for their persistent engagement and guidance.

He noted the unique style of play at Kentucky, where the fast-paced offense allows point guards to thrive.

Lewis mentioned his familiarity with other recruits, which adds to his excitement about potentially joining the Wildcats.

He recognizes Kentucky’s reputation as a guard-centric program and the opportunity it presents.

When discussing UConn, Lewis acknowledged the impressive recent achievements of the program, including back-to-back national championships.

He appreciates Coach Dan Hurley’s coaching style and the fire he brings to the game. The relationship with Assistant Coach Kimani Young has also been significant, as Young has actively provided feedback on areas for improvement. Lewis sees UConn as a place where he can balance freedom in his play with a structured environment.

As Lewis prepares for his decision, the anticipation surrounding his choice continues to build. His insights into each program reflect not only his aspirations but also the influence of coaching styles and team cultures on his eventual decision.
