Georgia Gets Bad News on Projected $2.7 Million Star Quarterback Amid Rumors

Georgia Faces Challenges in Recruiting Star Quarterback Jared Curtis

The Georgia Bulldogs football program has long been recognized for its strong recruiting efforts, but it seems the team is facing increased competition in its pursuit of one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class.

While head coach Kirby Smart and his staff are regarded as top contenders for Jared Curtis, a five-star quarterback from Nashville Christian,

recent developments suggest that Georgia could be losing ground to another powerhouse program: the Oregon Ducks.

Curtis, who stands at 6-foot-3, is the No. 1 quarterback prospect in his class and has a projected NIL value of $2.7 million.

Despite Georgia being among the schools he’s highly considering, On3.com’s recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong has reported that the Ducks are currently the favorites to land him.

According to Wiltfong, Curtis has developed a strong relationship with Oregon’s offensive coordinator,

Will Stein, and his recent visits to Eugene, coupled with a successful in-home visit from head coach Dan Lanning, have played a significant role in moving Oregon to the front of the pack.

For Georgia, the competition doesn’t end with Oregon. Other programs, including South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn, North Carolina, and Ohio State, are also in the mix for Curtis’s commitment.

While the Bulldogs remain a top contender, it’s clear that the recruiting battle for this prized quarterback is intensifying.

The Dawgs also face uncertainty regarding their quarterback situation for the upcoming 2025 season, with Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, and freshman Ryan Montgomery all vying for the starting role.

As Georgia looks to solidify its future at the quarterback position, the pressure to keep pace with other top programs in the recruitment of Curtis is mounting.

This situation is one that fans and analysts alike will be closely monitoring in the coming months as the 2026 recruiting cycle continues to unfold.
