Knicks get encouraging injury updates on OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson

The New York Knicks may not have made any significant moves at the trade deadline, but there is some good news on the injury front.

Despite rumors surrounding their search for additional depth, the team was only able to acquire Delon Wright in exchange for Jericho Sims.

With depth still a concern, the Knicks will rely on the return of two key players, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson, to boost their lineup in the final stretch of the season.

The latest injury updates on both players offer optimism for their eventual return.

OG Anunoby, who has missed the past three games due to a foot injury, is reportedly dealing with an “irritating” issue rather than a more severe or structural injury.

His recovery timeline is looking promising, as he is targeting a return after the All-Star break. If Anunoby is able to rejoin the team for their first game after the break, he would miss just five games, which is far less than what many fans feared when the injury first occurred.

This development is encouraging, especially since some initially worried he could be sidelined until April or beyond.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Robinson, who has been recovering from off-season surgery, is reportedly nearing the final stages of his recovery.

He is expected to be cleared for five-on-five practices soon, and both Robinson and the Knicks have set a target for him to make his season debut before March 1st.

Robinson even posted a photo of himself and Anunoby working on conditioning at the team’s practice facility, giving fans further hope for their returns.

While the Knicks would love to have both players back immediately, considering their past injury histories, these updates are promising.

It’s reassuring to know that the duo is making progress and should be available sooner than expected, offering a boost to a team that has struggled with depth this season.

With their return, the Knicks hope to gain the reinforcements needed to stay competitive down the stretch.
