Miami Dolphins’ Bradley Chubb to Miss Entire 2024 Season Due to Knee Injury

The Miami Dolphins have officially ruled out linebacker Bradley Chubb for the entire 2024 season due to a severe knee injury.

Chubb, 28, will not be activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, effectively ending his campaign for this year.

The decision came after a 21-day window to bring him back from the PUP list passed without activation, as confirmed by Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.

Chubb’s injury occurred late in the 2023 season during a game against the Baltimore Ravens on December 31, where he tore his ACL, meniscus, and patellar tendon in his right knee.

Despite his recovery progress, the decision was made with his long-term health in mind. McDaniel acknowledged Chubb’s patience and commitment throughout the recovery process but ultimately stated that more time was needed than the season could provide to allow him to perform at his expected level.

In 2023, Chubb had a standout season, recording 74 tackles, 11 sacks, and a league-leading six forced fumbles.

His career has been marked by both remarkable performances and unfortunate injuries, including a torn ACL in 2019 and an ankle injury that kept him out for ten games in 2021.

Over his career, Chubb has accumulated 39.5 sacks across 73 games, playing for both the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins.

Chubb was drafted by the Broncos as the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and was traded to the Dolphins during the 2022 season.

Despite his injury setbacks, Chubb is expected to return to the team for offseason workouts, aiming to continue his impactful career.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins, with a current record of 7-8, face a tough challenge in securing an AFC playoff spot with only two games remaining in the regular season.
