Philadelphia Eagles Shock the NFL with Bold Trade for Former All-Pro Edge Rusher Justin Houston
As the Philadelphia Eagles approach the final stretch of the regular season, their options for bolstering their pass rush are limited.
However, one potential candidate who could provide short-term assistance is a familiar name: 35-year-old former NFL All-Pro edge rusher Justin
Houston. With the Eagles currently sitting atop the NFC East at 10-2, Houston could offer valuable depth and playoff experience as the
team looks to secure the top seed in the NFC and make a Super Bowl run. Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder recently suggested that the Eagles
should consider signing Houston for the final five games of the season. Following a victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13, the
Eagles remain in first place in the NFC East and will host the Carolina Panthers in Week 14. However, the team’s edge-rushing corps has
taken a hit, with Bryce Huff dealing with a wrist injury and Brandon Graham sidelined for the rest of the year due to a triceps injury. While the
Eagles added veteran Charles Harris off waivers this week, Houston could be an ideal addition to provide additional insurance during the
postseason push. Although Houston may no longer be in his prime, the 35-year-old recorded 9.5 sacks just two years ago, and his experience could prove invaluable.
