Princess Cruises has revised its plans for its 2026 world voyage as cruise operators continue to adjust itineraries in response to ongoing instability in parts of the Middle East. The cruise line has confirmed changes to its original round-the-world sailing, opting for a new route that avoids the Red Sea and nearby regions affected by geopolitical tensions.
Instead of the previously announced world cruise, Princess has introduced a 131-night Circle Pacific Voyage scheduled to depart in January 2026. The decision follows a wider industry trend, with several major cruise brands already rerouting ships for 2025 and beyond due to security concerns linked to the Israel–Hamas conflict and regional threats impacting maritime travel.
The newly planned journey will take place aboard Coral Princess, departing Fort Lauderdale on 5 January 2026. Passengers will explore 60 ports across 19 countries, sailing through Hawaii, French Polynesia, the South Pacific, New Zealand, and Australia before heading north to Asia.
The itinerary also includes a Pacific crossing to Alaska, followed by a southbound cruise along the Pacific Coast, concluding in Los Angeles on 16 May 2026.
Travelers looking for alternative options can choose a shorter 115-night roundtrip voyage from Los Angeles, departing on 21 January 2026, or select individual segments covering specific regions. Destinations on the route include Auckland, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Fiji, Osaka, Singapore, Sydney, and Tahiti, many of which feature extended port stays. Onboard programming will include enrichment activities such as language classes, guest talks, cultural events, and a variety of entertainment and dining experiences.
Princess Cruises has stated it is reaching out to guests who booked the original 2026 World Cruise to explain compensation options and update booking details.
Company president John Padgett described the Circle Pacific Voyage as a carefully designed journey highlighting the cultural richness and natural beauty of the Pacific region, offering guests an expansive and memorable alternative to the traditional world cruise experience.
